Hailley Fargo

Student Engagement Coordinator, University Libraries
Hailley Fargo is the Student Engagement Coordinator and Assistant Librarian at Penn State. Currently, she is the Engagement Academy Scholar (2020-2022) and was previously an Engagement Academy Fellow (2019-2020). In her Scholar and Fellow roles, she conducts exploratory, qualitative research on the student engagement journeys of our Penn State students and the library’s role in these opportunities. In her librarian role, Hailley works with stakeholders across campus, collaborates with her colleagues in libraries across the Commonwealth to create an aligned approach to student engagement, and thinks strategically about ways to ensure student employment in the Libraries is meaningful. Hailley’s research interests include the library’s role in student engagement, peer-to-peer services, and undergraduate research. Hailley is also a co-founder of The Librarian Parlor, a blog dedicated to building community around LIS research. She earned her BA in English from Coe College and her MS in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
