2022 Summit: “Post-Pandemic: Building the Student Engagement Network Together”

Thursday, May 19, 2022 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

2022 Summit Theme: “Post-Pandemic: Building the Student Engagement Network Together”

The 2022 Student Engagement Summit will feature multiple workshops designed to generate conversation among Penn State educators about student engagement in a post-pandemic world, including campus resources, program alignment, and the ongoing development of the Student Engagement Network (SEN).

We are living through disruptive times. Educational leaders are immersed in a profound learning moment, driven by difficult questions that may have long-lasting impacts and require quick thinking. The 2022 Student Engagement Summit will focus on our response in this historic moment, which holds the potential to usher in transformational change across our campuses and colleges. Participants will be asked to examine current programs and resources in their units as well as within the Student Engagement Network. Participants will be challenged to consider how Penn State can encourage engagement in unique and effective ways and provide successful strategies for students, faculty, and staff.

Penn State faculty of any rank, staff, and graduate-level instructors from any discipline are invited to join educators and engagement officers from across the Commonwealth to:

  • Learn about Penn State student engagement efforts, programming/events, and projects;
  • Learn how the University can support students’ and educators’ needs related to student engagement;
  • Identify societal challenges, from now into the future, and from Pennsylvania to the world, that impact student engagement; and
  • Build partnerships and relationships to help facilitate student engagement.

The remote workshops in the morning sessions will include presentations, large group discussions, interactive breakout sessions/workshops, and examination of current practices at Penn State.

The afternoon session will convene individual college and campus teams and will take place at individual colleges/campuses or online (units can choose to be in person or remote). The afternoon campus sessions will be led by Engagement Officers at the campuses.
