Karen Marosi

Director of Student Engagement and Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences

Karen T. Marosi is the Director of Student Engagement and Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. In this role she works with students and faculty to increase the engaged-scholarship opportunities in the college and helps students identify and access beyond-the-classroom activities suited to their goals. She also serves as the EMS liaison to student engagement and career services activities across the university. Dr. Marosi was previously the Campus Integration and Professional Development Coordinator in Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations at Penn State. Prior to that she served as Associate Dean of Engineering and the Executive Director of the Engineering Success Alliance at Bucknell University for 17 years. She received her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering magna cum laude from Lafayette College and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Marosi’s career opportunities have led her to develop expertise in the areas of academic policy, academic advising, student support, assessment, curriculum development, grants administration, career counseling and retention. She is particularly interested in promoting success and degree attainment in STEM of students from historically underrepresented groups.
