Lori Gravish

Assistant Teaching Professor, Internship Coordinator and Alumni Outreach Coordinator, College of Health and Human Development

Lori A. Gravish Hurtack is an Assistant Teaching Professor within the Department of Kinesiology at Penn State University. She is certified as a Clinical Exercise Specialist with The American College of Sports Medicine.

Ms. Gravish served as a Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Director before she transitioned into academia. She has served as a teaching faculty member at The Pennsylvania State University within the Department of Kinesiology for the past 24 years. Ms. Gravish Hurtack has extended her role within the university to direct the internship coordination for the Department of Kinesiology with her leadership to educate students entering into an array of health care professions. Moreover, she also serves as The Penn State Kinesiology Alumni Development Coordinator collaborating undergraduates with alumni throughout the world.

Her latest course creation is an upper-level course entitled “Interdisciplinary Study to Street Medicine”. This course explores the fundamentals of unsheltered living while engaging in cultural immersion to foster an awareness pertaining to social and racial disparities of systemic homelessness. This summer she will launch a youth camp for Centre County youth entitled “Community Hero Initiative Program (CHIP)”. This camp will explore four dimensions of health including social, physical, nutritional and emotional health with the goal of empowering our youth towards community outreach with solidarity.
